Prof. Dr. Thomas Nau

Dr Thomas Nau brings 30 years of Sports Medicine, Trauma and Joint Preservation expertise to his academic-led clinic in Dubai. Dr Thomas received his medical degree from the University of Graz, Austria, in 1994. In 2003, he received his Austrian certification in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery from the Medical University of Vienna. He also completed his residency in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna, where he rotated through inpatient and outpatient wards and developed expertise in managing conditions ranging from trauma to sports-related injuries.

Before joining King’s College Hospital, Dr Thomas served in the Beijing United Family Hospital in China, in the American Hospital Dubai Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and the Gargash Hospital Department of Orthopaedic Surgery as an expert in sports injuries and arthroscopic surgery. In addition, he has an ongoing academic position as Adjunct Professor at the prestigious Vienna-based Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Experimental and Clinical Traumatology. Here in the Emirates, he was also appointed as an Adjunct Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences as well as Gulf Medical University.

 

Dr Thomas has also published in prominent medical journals, including the American Journal of Sports Medicine, and also serves as a reviewer for numerous academic peer-reviewed journals. Known for his continuous research and advanced minimally invasive joint preservation techniques, Dr. Thomas has established himself as one of the best orthopaedic surgeons in Dubai, and the doctor of choice for professional athletes seeking to return to competitive action.
